CONSTITUTION OF ASSOCIATION OF SINGAPORE ACTORS

1. NAME
This Society shall be known as the “Association of Singapore Actors”, hereinafter referred to as the “Association”.

2. PLACE OF BUSINESS
Its place of business shall be at “9b Circular Road, Singapore 049365” or such other address as may subsequently be decided by the Committee and approved by the Registrar of Societies. The Association shall carry out its activities only in places and premises which have the prior written approval from the relevant authorities, where necessary.

3. OBJECTS
Its objects are:

1. To promote and recognise artistic merit in the acting profession in Singapore;
2. To enhance artistic merit and integrity through continual training, seminars, conferences and workshops;
3. To organize activities which will benefit actors, the arts community and interested members of the public and which will raise the standing of the acting profession locally, regionally and globally;
4. To establish guidelines for professional standards and codes of conduct for the members;
5. To represent and serve its members on issues and matters relating, involving and affecting the acting profession in Singapore;
6. To serve as a forum to discuss the development of acting profession in Singapore ;
7. To foster and maintain relationships with other similar organisations in the region and around the world;
8. To nurture a civic society through awareness-raising and dialogue with actors, arts practitioners, the arts community and members of the public.
