| About the work |
This work comprises ideas and efforts of four individuals. Each one positioned variously in life. This is, a metaphor, if one likes, of the ways actors come together in the real life of the acts, or the act of real lives, paradox intended, with vast experiences expressed in the confine of one space.
Each of four of us brought different emotions to the canvas. First with hope to create a certain end product, then, met with difficulty, and in anguish and disappointment, some gave up. As we returned to it, we saw what we hadn’t before, so it was not until in despair did we see the light. Still some of us came to the piece, and ideas immediately gel. We each used a colour that has strong implication of a particular season, thus the name ‘moods of four seasons’.
We did not intend the direction of the piece at all. Subconciously, we connected at a level beyond ourselves. We were four people with different experiences doing something for a common goal. But isn’t that how it often happens, actors/actresses, for the love of the art, come together with various experiences and take on roles with all they’ve got and the end product can have a life of its one? The process is often changing, cyclical as well, but keeps on changing.
